Saqib Rashid: Saqib is the Founder & Managing Director of Inverness Capital Advisors, a global advisory and placement firm dedicated to raising capital for alternative investments. He has 20+ years of private markets experience, including with respect to principal investing and institutional capital raising. Currently based in the US, Saqib spent a decade abroad as a private equity professional living in both the Middle East and Asia. He previously served as an investment professional at The Abraaj Group and Spring Capital Partners, and his work experience also includes stints at McKinsey & Co and General Electric (Financial Management Program).
Saqib has a bachelor's degree from The George Washington and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received an MA from the Lauder Institute with a focus on Middle Eastern studies. Saqib is a U.S. Fulbright Scholar (Cairo - 2003) and Kauffman Fellow (KFP - class 16). He is passionate about supporting efforts related to international relief, socio-economic development & impact investing.
Sami Shaban: Sami Shaban is an attorney specialized in Corporate and Nonprofit Law. He is the former Chief of Staff to the CEO and CIO of Bridgewater Associates , the largest hedge fund in the world. Sami has a JD from the Seton Hall University School of Law and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.
Amir Memon: Amir Memon Co-Leads IR Waqf's Investment Committee. He is a Principal at Advent International, a leading global Private Equity Firm, where he leads investments in the Business & Financial Services sector. Amir has invested in over a dozen companies, globally, and serves on the Board of Distribution International, and Ansira-Sincro. Previously Amir worked at McKinsey & Co. Amir holds a BA/ BSc, from University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA/MA from the Wharton School.
Khaled Lamada: Khaled Lamada serves as president of the Society of American-Egyptian Development (SAED), an education and advocacy group for Egyptians living in the United States. Khalid is also a member of the Council of Islamic Leaders of New York. He has served as a board member for the Islamic Society of Bay Ridge; as president of the Arab American Muslim Federation (AMAF); and as co-chairman of the Islamic Circle of North America and Muslim American Society (ICNA-MAS) national convention.
Faisal Khan- Faisal Khan serves as the Director of IRUSA Waqf, the endowment arm of Islamic Relief USA. His responsibilities include managing the endowment's portfolio, analyzing potential investment opportunities and driving strategic and investment decisions for the organization. Faisal is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, has a JD from American University and an MBA in Finance from The George Washington University. Prior to joining IRUSA Waqf, Faisal was a Regional Vice President at PFS Investments where he managed a team of over forty financial consultants that advised clients on investment strategies. At KPMG Consulting he managed the global IT budget for the firm's CIO and advised Fortune 500 clients on analyzing the financial benefits of corporate mergers. Faisal is passionate about international relief and development and volunteering in his local community. He served as a firefighter with the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company for 12 years.
Erum Siddiqui- Erum Siddiqui is the Manager of Project Management at IRUSA Waqf. Erum has 8+ years of non-profit management experience with organizations with active local and international projects. Erum comes to IRUSA Waqf from Teach for America where she served as a manager for the D.C. Region 9-12 STEM curricula. Erum was also previously a Teach for America Corps member, serving as a high school educator in Prince Georges County, MD. Erum is passionate about community service with an emphasis on education. Erum currently volunteers her time to promote literacy as well as coach youth soccer in Washington, DC.
